CazToon is a Minecraft Java shader built for Iris, and it also works with Oculus. We test and maintain it on the latest Iris versions. Older versions aren't guaranteed to work, but we'll do our best to support as many as we can. CazToon works on any mod loader Iris supports, and our own testing is done on Fabric. It's a Java-only shader, and it won't come to Bedrock Edition because of that platform's technical limits. You'll be able to enjoy CazToon for free in 2027. CazToon was never meant to be a standalone shader: it's the visual engine of our upcoming Minecraft Java server project, also called CazToon, a full overhaul that builds a whole new game on top of Minecraft Java. So many of you asked us to release the shader that we made it available on Patreon. The server project is planned to open in alpha in 2027, and once it's open to the public, everyone will be able to experience CazToon there for free. Using the shader in your own worlds and projects outside the server is something we offer to our Patreon supporters. In short: if you'd like to use CazToon anywhere you want, you can get it on Patreon, and if you'd like to try it for free, you'll be able to on our server. This plan isn't final and may change depending on how the project goes. If the project were ever cancelled, we might release the shader for free on one or more mod sites instead. For now, you can get CazToon on Patreon by supporting us for $5, or get lifetime access for $20 before taxes. Prices may change over time. CazToon 2.0 is a complete rewrite with a major focus on performance. The settings menu offers four visual presets, Low, Medium, Ultra, and Extreme, so you can choose the balance that suits your setup. For reference, on an RTX 4080 without other mods, it runs at around 300 FPS on Low, 200 on Medium, 150 on Ultra, and 80 on Extreme. Your results will vary by setup. Ultra is recommended for the best balance of image quality and performance. Whimscape's 3D leaves and grass can impact performance heavily. For distant terrain, CazToon only supports Voxy, for performance reasons. If you run into performance issues, your hardware or mod setup is the most likely cause. Try a lower preset: Low still looks great on less powerful hardware. CazToon will be ported to Vulkan once a stable Vulkan version of Iris, or of an alternative to Iris, is available.

CazToon does not support macOS.
